It was on June 30th, 1997 when Hong Kong's population came out to celebrate the handing over of their country to its rightful possessor. It was the media event of the year, with more than 8,000 journalists hounding the territory.

 

Lion Dance
This 'kung-fu' style fanfare is sometimes performed on special events such as corporate anniversaries and the opening of new businesses, as it is said that lion dances can bring good luck.
